The first thing you need to know is… what is Prospecting.
It’s a crucial part of building a business because this is the strategy you need to have in place to go out and start finding people, building relationships and eventually (hopefully), welcoming them as a new customer.
Once you have a firm understanding of what Prospecting is. It’s time to create your own strategy and decide how you’re going to start prospecting.
You’ve probably heard people talking about their Prospecting List. A Prospecting list is like gold for Network Marketers. By having a well-maintained list you know exactly who you’ve reached out to, what their response is, when you need to follow up with them and who is next to contact.
But, creating that list in the first place can be daunting. Don't worry though, we'll be with you every step of the way. 😊

(And as you already know, or probably guessed – Prospecting is one of them!)

Now you have you list and your strategy of who to contact and when it's time to start reaching out to people. But wait, what should you say?
Knowing what to say and when to say it can be the most difficult part of building a social selling business.
Here are a couple of script writing tips.
- Have a purpose when writing your script
- Make it personal
- Write how you talk
- Tailor your language to your recipient
- Add value with product links/images in your script (only when relevant)
- Always proofread and spellcheck
When you start reaching out to people on your list, many won’t be interested right away, which is good, don’t be disheartened. Mark them as not interested right now and remember to personally check in with them (in a non-salesy way), you never know when they might suddenly need your product or service.
BUT - some people will be interested! And that’s when you really need to know what you’re going to say to them next.
Now it’s time to talk to your prospects. It can be difficult to know what to say. Lots of network marketers swear by creating a script to follow so if you get nervous or someone asks you a difficult question you have some pre-prepared responses ready.
In time you probably won’t even need your scripts. But in the beginning they are a handy tool to make sure you come across as professional and confident.
