How to Authentically Share your Story

Am I Offering Value?

Ask yourself…

In Rachael’s third class she asks – “Are you offering value?” This doesn’t mean that every post needs to be informational, it means that every post is adding to your story. Explaining a bit more about who you are, what you believe in and why you’re doing what you’re doing.

Discover:

  • What is value?
  • How you can offer value

So when posting on social media, ask yourself, am I offering value to my viewers? Is this educational? Is it funny? Is it relatable?

If you share valuable content you will grow your network and keep meeting new people to continue those conversations and continue those connections. So take some time to plan. Sharing your story means that you need to know your story.

Knowing your own story, that may seem simple, but it’s a process to learn how to share your story to engage others. So who were you before you started your business? How were you introduced to your company? What impressed you the most? What has your business done for you, or what are you most excited about it doing? When we have conversations with people, stop and take the time to listen, listen for what’s in it for that potential business partner or customer. If you’re talking to a fellow parent, consider mentioning how you love working your business around your kiddos busy schedule. If you’re talking to someone who loves to travel, consider mentioning that you started your business as a travel fund or how your favorite office is poolside. If that’s the truth, but be you, be excited and be willing to share.

If you love your company and the products or the service that it offers, then be proud to be able to offer the opportunity to be a part of it. It’s your love of what you do and your offer. That’s what the excitement is going to be, and that’s going to be what draws people in to take a closer look to see if they could do it too. You have to think about what’s in it for them. And then help them see that. Give them enough information to create interest, but don’t overdo it with too much.
